Auckland Windsurfing Association is proud to present the 2023-2024 Auckland Speed Challenge.
This event is open to all active AWA members with a GPS device capable of uploading tracks to www.gps-speedsurfing.com. The event window will be open for a period of 12 months from 1st July 2023 and close on 30th June 2024 with the intention of it becoming an annual fixture on the AWA calendar.
During this window participants can post as many sessions as they wish to the event located on www.gps-speedsurfing.com, category winners will be announced at the conclusion of the event window at the annual AWA prize giving event.
The following categories will be present in this event
- Fastest Max 2s
- Fastest 100m
- Fastest 500m
- Fastest nautical mile
- Fastest alpha racing – Software calculated speed over ‘one’ run of 500 meters with a gybe and a proximity at the startpoint of 50 meters.
You’ll need a GPS watch but quite a few are compatible.
